Grant allows UMaine to study recycling efficiency

A $6,000 grant given to the Green Campus Initiative this summer is going toward improving recycling efforts on campus. The grant allows GCI to begin assessing non-residence hall buildings so sustainable recycling programs can be implemented. The grant, given by the Johnson Controls Educational Giving Program, enables GCI to create a paid position for a student auditor to review how effectively the academic buildings on campus are recycling.… Post the First Comment

Man on lawn of Carnegie Hall with knife A man was arrested after being found intoxicated and unconscious on the front lawn of Carnegie Hall at 11:17 p.m. on Aug. 31. A passerby found Brian O'Connell, 22, from Bar Harbor, and called an ambulance. On Aug. 28, David Cole, commissioner of the MDOT, announced 18 new projects planned for the Bangor region, to be completed by next June. The improvements will be taking place in several locations along Interstate 95/395.
