Iraq conference sparks protest
Members of various peace organizations gathered Wednesday at noon outside Memorial Union to protest the University of Maine's sponsorship of a U.S.-Iraq business conference, "Doing Business in Iraq: The Private Sector." The conference was originally scheduled to take place at an inn in Scarborough today, but has been rescheduled for some time in March, as two members of the Iraqi Governing Council were unable to attend, according to a university press release.…
